A Thank You Note
Posted on August 11, 2011 by Ali Murtaza
Thank you’s are so overrated. How can two words, that are one in most other languages, express adequately the overwhelming warmth I felt in my heart yesterday. Am I grateful for every birthday wish, absolutely. So how would I express this gratitude? Ideally a heartfelt hug.
Here is how my day went:
I woke up early and drove to the Starbucks in Zuma to work on the concept of my production company. Before I left I had already received a few wishes. I had started getting wishes a day before from Pakistan to New York. Every single one touched my heart deeply. I must have looked like a complete bozo smiling from ear to ear at Starbucks while I stared at my computer.
I cannot express how much brighter my days are because all of you are in them. I cannot in words express what each of those wishes meant. If my heart got a little bigger with each, it would be the size of Egypt and the veins would run like the Nile.
So I guess I will say thank you after all, but in the language of the gods instead of men. ABAIC ASUDIUYN NJUIEEEY – Yes the language of gods is always written in all caps. They must be Norse or something
P.S. I wish I had planned it better so everyone could have come.
